Registration is still open for my Advanced Kids Comic Workshop at Betty’s Books, which starts on February 22nd. I’ve been thinking long about this, and sadly, I feel this will be the last time I will ever offer this as a public group class.
I’ll still teach it privately for those who wish to learn the deeper workings of comic making, but my Advanced class has went from selling out and filling rooms pre-pandemic, to now having little to no sign ups at all.
I have no idea why things have changed, but I keep losing money because I have to pay a room rental fee regardless if class happens or not. This leads me to the BUT…
(what an oddly worded segue…)
I plan to take what was offered in the Advanced class, and scale it down in a revised version so that 8-11 year olds can understand it, as I have more success with registrations for that age range. I already teach a Beginner’s Kids Comic Workshop to 8-11 year olds, so I don’t know if this will be added on to that class or made a separate “Advanced Beginner” class, so stay tuned.
I am also toying around with tweaking one of my GIRLSCOUT BADGE CLASSES as well, but need to do more research before I make an announcement. As always, you can stay tuned by signing up to my NEWSLETTER! Thanks for reading.
EDIT 2/18/26: Calling it two days early and cancelling this class due to no signups. La’sigh.
