A LOT of stuff is going on right now with several other plates spinning in the air. I’m working on an Advanced Kids Comic Workshop and have summer camps lined up, and Girl Scout classes as well as an update on my new comic. Check it out below!
ADVANCED KIDS COMIC WORKSHOP
First, as you can see by the photo, I’m finally working on an outline for an Advanced Kids Comic Workshop! I get a huge amount of requests from parents for this but for a long time I’ve pounded my head against my desk thinking about how to go about it. I can’t really take what I’ve designed for the younger kids and use it for teenagers as it’s below their skill level, so I’m effectively re-inventing the wheel specifically to that age group.
Here’s how it’s going to go down once I’m done with this. I’ll have my current 8-12 year old class, which would be the “beginning” class. I’ll then have an Advanced class for the same age group that will cover totally new stuff and build on what they’ve already learned. Next, I’ll take everything I have for those two classes and evolve it into something that would be appropriate to teenagers. So in the end I’ll have two new classes out of this. My goal is to have summer camps for this new class! Speaking of which…
SUMMER CAMPS
I currently have THREE week long summer camps happening in June with maybe one or two more in July. Two camps are open to the public and will be held at THE NOVEL NEIGHBOR bookstore in Webster Groves, and the third is a private camp for the Twin Oaks Christian School. As always, check out my KIDS COMIC WORKSHOP page for more details and to sign up! I also have a couple six week classes in the works too!
GIRL SCOUT CLASSES
I now have two Girl Scout classes created to help them earn their Junior Drawing and Cadette Comic Artist badges! Check out my GIRL SCOUT CLASSES page for more information!

THE NORMLINGS UPDATE The sketch phase of my newest comic, THE NORMLINGS, is going slower than anticipated simply because I’m trying to line up all my summer classes and the Advanced comic workshop stuff I mentioned above. I currently have ten episodes sketched out but I want to have at least thirty sketched before I even think about finishing them. The reason why is I want to build up my muscle memory drawing this thing out, so by the time I ink and color it, there’s a lesser chance I’ll screw something up and will have to start over from scratch. Naturally stay tuned to this site or sign up to my NEWSLETTER for future updates! Thanks for reading! |
